This Section provides an overview of the Planetary Pairs as used for OracleCards Readings

Astrology - Planetary Pairs (for a more complete reference, please see The Planets and Their Symbols)
 - Sun - Moon Represents the light or energy that sustains us comes from both the universe (Sun), and from within (Moon)
 - Mercury - Pluto Represents the mind, being our individually awakening mind (Mercury) or the mind of humanity (Pluto)
 -   Venus - Mars Represents our basic motivation, or movement being inward and feeling/judgment oriented (Venus) or outward, active energy and our physicality (Mars)
 -   Jupiter - Saturn Represents our social environment encountered and approached through cooperation as 'in unity there is strength' (Jupiter), or approached through our individuality (ego), formed during life as we face the challenges of environmental and social constraints (Saturn)
 - Uranus - Neptune Represents cosmic messengers who shake up the status quo by awakening in us ideas that are unconventional (Uranus), and dissolving the remnants by grouping its elements into seemingly unrelated arrangements (Neptune)

The Planetary Pairs work with the rows of the framework, and are reflective of the flow of consciousness as it works within each column (for a discussion on the columns, see the Evolution of 7 topic).  Ultimately the 8 by 7 matrix (8 rows and 7 columns) that we are working with represents a map that describes the manner in which universal ch'i (columns) and universal consciousness (rows) interpenetrate to manifest the 3D realm in which we live.  The flow of energy goes in the same direction as the way the cards are dealt out, from top to bottom and right to left.  The cards are dealt starting with the 1st row of the 7x7 matrix and ending with the crown line, showing that the energy loops back around to the top.

The rows are grouped into 4 pairs of 2 rows each, starting with the crown line and the 1st row (Mercury line).  The paired rows are representative of the flow of consciousness as it enters through the Crown and drops into the Heart, creating 4 rings of awareness as it ripples through the body.  In the 4 groups of paired rows, the following terms are used in the descriptions:

Outwardly - Represents the energy of the planet when reading for the rising spread.
Inwardly - Represents the energy of the planet when reading for the moon spread

The 1st of the paired rows groups the Crown Line (the row atop the 7x7 matrix) with the Mercury line (the 1st row of the 7x7 matrix).  This group signifies the vibration of the drop of divine nectar as it drops into the Heart initiating the 1st ring of awareness.  This ring exposes consciousness through the interaction of Mercury and Pluto as it connects the individual mind (Mercury) with the cosmic mind, or the mind of humanity (Pluto).

  • Crown Line
    • Outwardly it works with Pluto and represents the connection points to cosmic consciousness through which the Ego works to contact the higher self, thus building a bridge between the higher mind and the lower mind (Mercury).
    • Inwardly it works with Mercury and represents the effort of the lower self to raise the vibration of the lower mind to that of the higher mind (Pluto) through the functioning of the abstract mental awareness.
  • Mercury Line
    • Outwardly it works with Mercury and represents the creative expression of the lower mind as a function of the lower intention, and exposes its effort to connect with the abstract mental perspective (Pluto).
    • Inwardly it works with Pluto and represents the drawing together of abstract thought forms in order to develop the intuitive mind as a means to address karmic patterns buried in the individual intention (Mercury).

The 2nd of the paired rows groups the Venus line (the 2nd row of the 7x7 matrix) with the Mars line (the 3rd row of the 7x7 matrix).    This group relates to the interaction of individuals in the realm of emotion, represented as the division of male and female.  This ring exposes consciousness through the interaction of Venus and Mars as it connects the individual desire for love (Venus) with the individual will to choose love (Mars) as exposed by Ego.

  • Venus Line
    • Outwardly it works with Venus and represents the drive of the individual desire for love as the Ego exposes the individual will to choose love through its active channel (Mars).
    • Inwardly it works with Mars and represents the process whereby the individual will is transformed by Ego as it aligns with its individual desire for love (Venus).
  • Mars Line
    • Outwardly it works with Mars and represents the active expression of the love force as exposed by Ego driven by the individual desire for love present in the moment.
    • Inwardly it works with Venus and represents the effort of the Ego to listen for love in new ways as a way to adjust the individual desire for love, by identifying with the individual will present in the Patterned Ego expression (Mars).

The 3rd of the paired rows groups the Jupiter line (the 4th row of the 7x7 matrix) with the Saturn line (the 5th row of the 7x7 matrix).   This group represents identification with the physical self as a social being, and relates to the concept of service (activity) in relation to self, and other-self.  It represents the unfoldment of consciousness through the interaction of Jupiter and Saturn as it connects the desire to unify the interactions of social groups (Jupiter) with the individual effort required to perform its social role properly (Saturn).

  • Jupiter Line
    • Outwardly it works with Jupiter and represents the effort of Ego to create social unions through which the individual karmic plan (Saturn) can play out.
    • Inwardly it works with Saturn and represents the effort of the Ego to distill individual opportunity from already crystallized 3D reality in order to better recognize the social unions (Jupiter).
  • Saturn Line
    • Outwardly it works with Saturn and represents the crystallization of structure based on karmic opportunity within which the incarnating Soul creates its kingdom (Jupiter) as it operates through society.
    • Inwardly it works with Jupiter and represents the identification with character traits as seen through social interactions, as a means of reorganizing patterned karmic expressions (Saturn).

The 4th of the paired rows groups the Uranus line (the 6th row of the 7x7 matrix) with the Neptune line (the 7th row of the 7x7 matrix).  This group represents the outer and inner bounds of our individual consciousness, the field within which all possibilities play out.  This group represents the connection that we have with the cosmos due to the interaction of Uranus and Neptune, where Uranus represents the spark of our own individuality as it is connected through our karmic history.  Neptune represents the solution through which our individuality can reconnect the shadow components of self that have been released in our experience.

  • Uranus Line
    • Outwardly it works with Uranus and represents the effort of the incarnating Soul to release karmic patterns as it seeks to fulfill the prophesy (Neptune) of its birth request.
    • Inwardly it works with Neptune and represents the effort of the Ego to sift through the subconscious memory in order to recognize new patterns of identification (Uranus) present in the Karmic Pool.
  • Neptune Line
    • Outwardly it works with Neptune and represents the outer bounds of our physical experience, essentially defining the Space within which the moment unveils the movement (evolution) of the incarnating Soul (Uranus).
    • Inwardly it works with Uranus and represents the inner bounds of our physical experience, essentially the Spark of Creator that represents the masculine balance to the feminine Space provided by Neptune.
